Local Cost Cutting Initiative
The Citizens' Campaign began the New Year with a State House Press Conference (watch video) to announce our menu of "ready for adoption" local government cost cutting proposals that citizens can present for adoption in their own hometowns. Chairman Harry Pozycki (pictured in the video with Tom Byrne) was also a Guest Columnist for the Star Ledger and published the article Property Taxes: How NJ Citizens Can Take Up the Fight.
Citizens and groups across the state have enthusiastically embraced the idea of providing leadership on local government cost cutting. Groups have been requesting speaking engagements and citizens have been joining online to get access to the model cost cutting ordinances.
The Citizens' Campaign rolled out a menu of 10 model proposals which citizens can present for adoption on the local level to tackle the property tax crisis by reducing costs in municipal government. This menu is available under "Local Cost Cutting Measures" on our website. Citizens can learn how to successfully present these model laws for adoption in their own hometowns with the education, support and free coaching offered by the Citizens' Campaign.
